Cheap pump that works good.Quality product? i wouldn't say so as there are a few short comings... but for the price, I like it plenty! This pump is a bit over a hundred dollars and can perform like the big name brands in aquariums like the Echotech L1 and Reef Octopus pumps for a fraction of those pumps' price.I am using one of these pumps to drive an ETSS-1000 downdraft skimmer and it works like a dream! producing incredible foam action with a pump that only uses about 80 watts as seen from a Kill A Watt, suddenly making old downdraft tech an efficient, viable competitor to needle wheels type skimmers in terms of power consumption. It is also dead silent and vibrates so minimally even when resting right on some live rock in my sump. I can only hear the sound of water in my skimmer.I mainly got one to try and only used it as a skimmer pump because i wasnt sure about using such a pump as a return for my reef (scared about cheap chinese electronics failing and killing my reef), looks cheap, feels cheap, but does perform good so Ill give them that. It's been running 24/7 for 3 months so far on my skimmer that im considering using another DCS pump as a return to replace a Rio pump. The motor feels good and well built despite mine also coming in with some dings like the other reviewer, but I don't care... it still works flawlesslyNow the BIGGEST concern of mine so far is the controller... a cheap piece of plastic that runs REALLY HOT and kinda smells like its burning on 100% power and is a regulator for the pump. There is no ventilation in it or notable heatsinking for its innards. I plan to open it eventually and cool it down by mounting the electronics to better cooling. If they made the controller housing out of aluminum for better thermal management, I would rate this thing a 5/5, but because it looks like it is a likely failure point of the unit, it only gets a 4.They should release a non controllable version of this pump, make it even cheaper and do away with its major weakness.I was hoping for better since it's new. I read great reviews on the dct. I ordered 2 dcs12000 for my 330 gallon reef build and sadly to say both had damages. I have attached pictures. I am going to call amazon to see what can be done. I do not get the option to leave seller feedback on my prime account. Haven't even tested in water and will aviod it as the back panel is open. I am disappointed as I have several other jeboa products and none have been bad out of the box. It's almost like some one used these pumps and returned them.Update:After running it for less then a month one of the pumps power failed (To the point of melting setting off home fire alarms) and the other power stop working a few weeks after. Ran very hot before it failed. I was able to find a support contact: [email protected] which was very responsive and they sent me 2 power supply's. I have updated my 2 star to 3. I still have the minor damages in casing but it does not effect it from working. Thank you Peter for your quick response. I will update review after a month. Please note I own other Jebao products (running 2 DC6000 for over 2 years). It seems there is two different powersupply versions from the ones I got from Ming and the ones I got from another source so I will assume Jebao might have figured out the that some can overheat. This pump is insanely powerful. My sump is in my basement and my display tank in my living room. And the sump is not directly under the tank either. I only run this on 50% and it forcefully send water from my basement to my living room. Its quiet, easy to set up and super efficient. Even when it gets dirty it hardly slows down. The only downfall is the cleaning, you need a screw driver to disassemble and get the impeller out. Most pumps you can take apart without tools. Not a big deal, but curious how those metal screws fair after a couple years of salt water. But hey screws are cheap if they need replaced over time. Minimal inconvenience. I would highly recomend this pump over any name brand that costs 4 times as much.I got this Jebao DCS-12000 3170GPH submersible pump with controller to upgrade my Danner Mag Drive MD12 which is still running after 10 years and now will become a backup. I have a 120 gal. 4' x 2' x 2' mix reef with 1" return and 1.5" overflow and about 5 ft. head. I was not sure my overflow could handle it, otherwise, I would have bought the DCS-15000. However, after three days at max setting, this pump is absolutely silent, no vibration even though I don't have any extra padding. The plastic housing and threaded connectors have some flaws but everything works as expected. The only thing left is the test of time. This pump is Awesome! i run it at 3/4 and it is quiet for the amount of water its moving. No issues after a few months of use. Made the flow on my 125gal salt tank double!Great sized pump for a good price. Using it as a back up for my saltwater tank.Fácil de inatkarreliable and a strong pump
