The old unit was starting to go. A lot of voltage drop decreasing the temperature output. Finally ordered this new replacement unit which arrived today so I had to try it out. The old unit was very loose and would just fall out by itself. I was pleased to find this unit plugged in nice and solid. I'm plugging into a 20 Amp circuit and the voltage transfer is exceptional. 18 minutes later it was exceeding 500 degrees (in the sun). Hotter temp than before. This has exceeded my expectations. Tip: Take a fine piece of sandpaper and sand of any corrosion on the BBQ heating element prongs to make better contact. If you have this electric BBQ and the temp isn't what it use to be I highly recommend replacing the controller. Happy Camper!
