This transformer is a direct replacement for my burnt out one. The only reason it’s not a five star review is because the two yellow power wires are not long enough to come under the housing and into the screw contacts. I snipped wire from the old transformer and used it to extend the wires. Other than that, it’s a direct replacement and got the sprinklers working again.Didn't have a problem installing it. To me it looked and work like the original one I had. Swapped the old with the new and worked like normalfirst one showed up and did not put out any voltage, sent it back and second one works, so it was a hassle but i guess things happen100% replacement of original part. The yellow cables could be a bit longer so its easier to connect them.It's a replacement transformer. It is what it is and does what it's supposed to do. It's hard to get five-star-excited about a transformer. It's not like my sprinklers suddenly started mowing the grass and weeding after I installed it.From the look of this item, I like it very much because it is an OEM. However, I now really don't know how good this transformer is because I bought it for spare.Needed to replace the transformer in Homeowners Association sprinkler control. Would have cost over four times as much to replace the entire unit. Very happy with the ease of installation and product itself.Replaced old one that had apparently gone bad. These run too hot. Once they have been on a few hours - touch it and see how quickly you pull away. I actually leave my controller door open now to supply more vent as I worry it's just too hot.Received this item in a plastic lined brown envelope. Tested the transformer prior to installing and it did not work. No output of 24vac. Should not have been shipped in a bag. Returned for refund.This product we never used as it was the electronics in the timer was the problem .The time the timer was replaced ,the return policy was ended ,would like to return and receive a refund .Wally LawrenceWell made and does the jobGenuine Hunter.
